Very sad news about David but lets keep this site as a tribute to him. I for one have found this site to be a great and honest review of the Island

Thanks for that! As long as people keep posting and find the site a use I’m happy to keep the site live on this server. If your wondering what the heck I have to do with it I’m Davids Son-in-law and got him into the internet in the first place. I’m a web developer based in The Lake district.

So sorry to hear about David’s passing. He gave us such good advice prior to our early trips to Skala Potomia. We hope to return in September and will raise a glass to him at the Steki. Lets keep the site going in his memory.

Very sad news about David, I know he had a real love for Thassos and I often read (and will continue to do so) his site.

So sorry to hear about David – his Thassos website was a delight and a great help to us when we were thinking of revisiting in 2003 after a gap of 13 years!!!! Continued to read/use the guestbook/feedback page avidly until it became obvious that something was wrong, although we did hear from the people we stayed with in 03 that David was not in the best of health. I do hope that this site can become another link with the island and hope the lack of recent postings is not an indication that it is not being used/maintained – I will certainly be looking in regularly to check for updates. We are off again to Limenas in July, staying at Thetis.

Although I never actually met David, I did speak to him on a few occassions, and like many others, corresponded with him regularly via the website. I am absolutely delighted that this site has been resurrected as it was such a ‘homely’ place to visit and read the comments from such decent people with a passion for the island, and it has always been a pleasure to read the accounts of visitors throughout the summer months detailing their observations and new discoveries on Thassos, as well as the old familiar favourites. I would really like us all to ‘rally round the troops’ and I would suggest that if you have a circle of like minded Thassos enthusiasts, then please inform them of this website, and lets get some postings on it during the forthcoming summer months, and hopefully ensure that there is enough support to keep it viable. I’ll certainly be putting in my sixpen’orth!
